Using an ultrasound probe of pc ultrasound at a cost of about SFr 4’000 or even less (software included), you may image carotid arteries on your personal computer / laptop (windows system). Just plug in the probe in your USB and start imaging.
Using this tool, you may assess the absence or presence of carotid plaque within less than 60 seconds.
